 Hi, I’m Ethan.

I created a cooking show that focuses on techniques and the why behind cooking with plenty of food inspiration along the way.

Coming from a family that likes to cook, food has always been a big part of my life, but it was never something I thought about pursuing.

I graduated from NC State with an accounting degree and went to work for one of the big 4 accounting firms in finance and technology consulting. In that job, I traveled most weeks Mon-Thurs, and while the work was fine, I hated that I couldn't cook for myself for most of the week. In fact, one time I specifically booked a hotel with a kitchenette in NYC where some coworkers and I cooked up venison with a red wine reduction, brussels sprouts, and potatoes (I made sure to leave the a good tip for the maid!).

About a year and a half into the ‘real world’ , I started making cooking videos as a weekend hobby. I knew absolutely nothing about cameras, filming, lighting, sound or audio, but I loved learning about it and making these videos. As time went on, my skills as both a filmmaker and a cook got better and better. Though the growth of the show on YouTube was slow, questions slowly crept into my mind whether this is something I should pursue. At the same time, I was looking at schools to apply for my Master's in Analytics and I soon had to make the decision: Do I really want to go to school or should I look for something else?

Ultimately, I decided I wanted to pursue this cooking show 100% of the time.

On June 14, 2019 I quit my job, took my belongings and the money I had saved up for grad school, and moved back in with my parents. Though I had not lived at home in over 7 years since graduating high school, I was excited for the opportunity ahead, no turning back. This website is the collection of my work.
